I like how the in-focus fibers in the middle ground are so clear and crisp, yet the ones in the foreground are slightly fuzzy, yet you can see the tactile texture. You normally can't when you're standing on and looking down at a rug, now can you.
This image was taken a moment before the first one, for you can still see the fly on the rug. This one was taken from above the carpet, so you cannot see as clearly the texture of the carpet fibers, yet you get a better feeling for the pattern. And from the size of the fly, you can get a feeling for the size of the rug itself.
I'd wished I'd zoomed this in more, but I didn't want the fly to fly away. I do like how you can see the rug's patterning though. And admittedly, from this shot you can see the wear on the rug, even in this small patch of it. That's pretty neat.
So as I said, I'll post again tomorrow with the collage picture. Many more (and interesting) macro shots in my flikr thingy for you to take a look at if interested. I had fun with this one.
Still recovering a bit from the Los Lonely Boys concert in Hampton Beach that I was at last Friday. I'll go through those images later to see if there might be anything worth showing here.
That's it for now.
Peace out!

Very nice hoto similar to the tree branch one I took because the focal point was determined by our lenses. What did you learn about your camera's focal point?
I had alot of fun with this assignment to. I look forward to seeing your collage. I like how you are showing texture with focus.
Hey Kat, I have to tell you that I like the writing on the windshield in the background with the carpet in the foreground - reason being it made me think of Aladdin with the magic carpet, the carpet gets pretty good mpg ;0)! I always find it interesting when taking a shot with a specific purpose then after the shot is done finding that the set up gave another perspective or meaning not even thought of! Great focus and detail and like the texture of the pictures!
